Space Elevator tests get a lift
Submitted by acohill on Wed, 02/15/2006 - 16:17.
Liftport Group is testing a 1 mile high carbon fiber ribbon as part of its engineering efforts to design and build a 62,000 mile high space elevator that uses robotic lifters to ferry supplies and people up into Earth orbit. NASA has offered a cash prize for working prototypes that meet certain specifications.
where to dock when you get there.
I have reacently contacted the NASA Institute for Advanced Concepts, to shair a incredable new idea of a space station that would be extreamly ecconomical, ez- to build, fast to compleat. It's been more than a week, not a return reply of interst. Would you be intersted? thank you Allen Ray Webb,....allenrwebb@charter.net
Space station
Design Nine is not in the space business, so we are not in a position to help. NASA is a big outfit, so it is not unusual that it might take more than a week to respond to inquiries like yours. You might want to look at some of the private companies investing in space.
